Somatic Coaching
Reconnect with Your Body. Align with Your Values. Move Toward Liberation.
What is Somatic Coaching?
Somatics is a theory of change that invites us to reintegrate our minds and our bodies, become aware of our emotional and behavioral patterns, and use physical practices to shift closer to who we want to be.
Somatic coaching is a collaborative experience where the coach supports the client to identify their longings and offers somatic practices to support them moving towards those longings.
Through movement, mindfulness, and intentional practice, we work together to shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck—so you can show up more fully in your life and in the world.
Why Somatics?
If you have ever felt stuck in negative behavior patterns, trapped in anxiety spirals, or disconnected from your body’s wisdom, you are not alone. Sometimes awareness of our challenges is not enough and we are searching for practical ways to shift what is keeping us from our goals and dreams.
We cannot think our way out of oppression and injustice—we need to unlearn systems of oppression from a body level to build the world we want to live in. Somatics helps us shift out of old patterns and into new ways of building relationships, community, and movements for collective liberation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know somatic coaching with Leah is right for me? Somatic coaching with Leah is a great fit for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact, especially in the realm of social justice. Whether you're new to social justice work or a seasoned activist, if you're ready to become more embodied and integrate this awareness into your daily life, somatic coaching can support your growth. By deepening your connection to your body, you'll unlock your inner strength and become more empowered to create just and equitable communities. If you've been feeling stuck, burnt out, or lacking confidence, or if you sense there’s more potential within you waiting to be accessed, somatic coaching can help you tap into that power and move toward meaningful change.
Why does coaching last 3-5 months? Coaching typically lasts 3-5 months to ensure you have enough time to deeply integrate somatic practices into your life. While meeting weekly for 10 weeks offers the fastest progress, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes bi-weekly or less frequent sessions are more realistic. Embodying somatics requires time and practice for your body to absorb and internalize the lessons, which is why a longer coaching period allows for sustainable growth and transformation."
How is somatic coaching different from talk therapy? Somatic coaching differs from talk therapy in that it focuses less on talking about the past and more on creating change in the present. While therapy often centers on understanding why we are the way we are, somatic coaching focuses on how we can change by working with body sensations and physical practices to shift our patterns. While some therapeutic modalities may overlap with somatic coaching, the primary goal of somatic coaching is to help you achieve your present and future goals, rather than unpacking past experiences.
